TASTE OF THE MOUNTAINS MENLO PARK

The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association presents the Taste of the Mountains Wine Walk on Saturday, December 1 in Downtown Menlo Park from 1-4:30pm. All ticket proceeds from the event will benefit the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation. Enjoy wines from small, local boutique wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains poured in various designated tasting locations up and down Santa Cruz Avenue. Check in for your wristband, glass, and a map of the pouring locations – then enjoy an afternoon of tasting and discovering. Purchase your favorites from the bottle booth and Stay downtown for a dinner or movie to follow!

Traditionally considered the “Capital of Venture Capital”, the City of Menlo Park is also home to industry-leading tech companies like Facebook and SRI. Downtown Menlo Park is known for its quaint shops, great restaurants and high-end home decor. The City is the perfect backdrop for this elegant event.

Downtown Menlo Park shops and restaurants are open to the general public of all ages during the wine walk and those under 21 may attend the tasting areas. You must be 21 to purchase wine tasting glasses and wristbands. Tasting areas are unrestricted but wine is not permitted outside of designated areas. The tasting is available till 5pm, only to those with valid event bracelets.

For over 30 years, the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation (MPAEF) has furthered the mission of Menlo Park City School District (MPCSD) to provide an exceptional education for 3000 students at Encinal, Laurel, Oak Knoll, and Hillview schools. Santa Cruz Mountains Wine Passport

Physical Passports are no longer available for mailing for this Saturday’s Passport Day.

You can purchase a physical passport at participating wineries or on the SCM Wine App.

         

Four times a year, on the third Saturday of January, April, July and November, the winegrowing community of the Santa Cruz Mountains comes together to celebrate the generations of farmers, vintners and families that are the roots of this unique mountainous region. The possibilities are as varied as the wineries themselves and promise a fun, unforgettable experience.

With your SCM Wine Passport you can visit participating wineries 365 days per year during winery hours of operation as well as on Passport Celebration Days. Passport holders are welcomed into more than 50+ participating wineries throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains, to redeem a tasting flight.

*Passports are valid for one year from the date of purchase and entitle the bearer to one tasting at each participating winery. Passport must be presented at each winery visited.

*If purchasing a physical passport online please allow two weeks for processing & delivery. You can also purchase passports at participating wineries, please call ahead to make sure they have some in stock.

*Passport rules are subject to change without notice at the discretion of the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association (SCMWA).  SCMWA’s Passport program offers invaluable information about participating wineries which include a booklet, map and webpage for easy navigation. It is up to the sole discretion of each participating winery to offer its own unique experience. SCMWA does not offer refunds or replacements for Passports, including those that are lost, stolen, or damaged.
