Dominick and Gloria Chirichillo’s choice of name for their winery is a reflection of their commitment to their Italian heritage and the tradition of family winemaking. In 1955 in New York, Dominick who is called Domenico in Italian was introduced to these traditions by his Nonno (grandfather), Domenico Giovinazzo. In the basement of their home was a wine press that Nonno showed Dominick; passing down from one generation to another the love of handcrafting wine.
Dominick’s passion for winemaking took him from amateur competitions, while he lived on the East Coast, to commercial status after moving to Northern California. Moving to California has enabled Dominick to choose his grapes hands-on from selected vineyards in Napa Valley, Sonoma’s Central Coast, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Amador County and the Lodi District. Not to mention he is a member of the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association, where he sources Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. As of fall 2010, the wines of Domenico have won 300 Medals for wines produced from these various regions!
Prior to opening Domenico Winery, Dominick and Gloria’s passion for the wine business was shared with others on both the East and West Coasts through Bacchus Winemaking Club. This membership club enabled many more people to create their own wines with custom labels. Over 200,000 cases of wine have been created by amateur winemakers on both the East and West Coasts through the years. MYKA CellarsMYKA Cellars
At Myka Cellars, a holistic approach to winemaking is taken. All of the parts of a wine should be in balance, yet all should be expressed. Each wine should express a sense of place and varietal character. To achieve this, we employ gentle handling techniques on micro lot wines. We have no fermentors larger than one ton and many of our wines are only one or two barrel lots. We use a combination of new world and old world techniques, bridging the two styles in a way that utilizes the best attributes of both. Our wines of more than one grape involve a co-fermentation with all grapes fermented together to create complex and unique flavors that are only obtained through this process. We use oak barrels to accentuate the existing flavors of our wines and are careful not to let the oak dominate and become the central flavor in the wine. This process makes every vintage an expression of that year and a true encapsulation of each vineyard. Our wine is art from the day the grapes started to grow until the day you enjoy it. In the cellars we use only sustainable winemaking practices. There are no additives used in your winemaking. We start with sustainable, natural grapes and that’s all we use.
Odonata Wines is a small family winery based here on the West side of Santa Cruz. We do our best to focus on local grapes that are organic and grown sustainably. We work closely with the growers to ensure the highest quality wines from the vines to the glass.
The credo I subscribe to is the blending of old world winemaking methods and attitudes with new learning and a continuous search for improvement.
My desire is to create wines that are soft, supple, and with subtle complexity. Inspired from the traditional French style, these wines are designed to be food friendly. They are balanced in fruit, acidity, alcohol, and wood, with flavors and aromas that are cohesive with a lengthy finish.
Odonata wines are made to be accessible now, but will also age beautifully. They will always be hand made in small batches to exemplify the unique qualities of the varietal and vineyard.

Pelican Ranch Winery is a small, family owned and operated winery specializing in Rhone and Burgundy style wines from the best vineyards in California. Established in 1997, the winery is located a short distance from Monterey Bay which provides the constant, cool, coastal influence that allows for controlled, slow fermentation. The result is rich, full-flavored, complex wines. Pelican Ranch wines are labeled according to their single-vineyard designation. Production is limited to 100 cases from each vineyard.

Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard has been making European-style, food-friendly, cellar-worthy wines since 1975. We are well-known for making Pinot Noir that can age beautifully for three decades.
Our basic philosophy is that wine should dance with food and make the food/wine experience more than a sum of the ingredients. This means making wines with moderate alcohol and oak so that the true characteristics of the grape varieties are expressed. You won’t find any high-alcohol, jammy, oaky wines here.
In 2008 we launched a second brand, Quinta Cruz, which features only varieties that originated on the Iberian Peninsula but are now grown here in California. These Portuguese and Spanish varieties include Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Souzao, Graciano, and Tinto Cão.
After more-or-less hiding away in the mountains for 32 years, the winery moved into the city of Santa Cruz in 2008 and opened the first tasting room in our long history. We are located in an area where you can walk to many other tasting rooms nearby and are only a few blocks from the beach and Natural Bridges State Park.

Trout Gulch Vineyards is the current evolution of zeal that Père et Fils, Bernie and Gerry Turgeon share in their dedication to producing wines of extraordinary character. Established in 1987
Pioneer winemaker Bernie Turgeon replanted the vineyard on Trout Gulch Rd in Aptos to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the early 80′s in his quest for the Holy Grail – Burgundian style wines of sublime character from the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Turgeon family had founded J. Lohr winery in the early 70′s along with partner Jerry Lohr. Bernie’s son Gerry took over production in 1999 upon Bernie’s retirement. Their efforts were assisted along the way by Paul Woffard and currently by Barry Jackson. There have been many successes during the two+ decades that lead to the current evolution of the winery which still features wines made from the old estate farmed by Richard Alfaro as well as hand selected wines from outstanding vineyards in the Central Coast. The winery is located on Swift St. within the Equinox Methode Champenoise Cellars. Trout Gulch wines are marketed throughout the Greater Bay Area by Monterey Bay Wine Company. Meet the Business Owner: Gerry Turgeon
I grew up in the business, planting an extensive vineyard in the Arroyo Seco, Monterey Co. along with my father in the early seventies. I attended UC Davis studying viticulture and enology. I worked the harvest and crush as well as hospitality and marketing at our family winery, formerly Turgeon & Lohr Winery until starting the first micro-brewery on the Central Coast in 1985 (Santa Cruz Brewing Co. & Front St. Pub) with my father, Bernie. It takes a lot of beer to make wine! We planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on Trout Gulch Rd. in the Aptos foothills and began producing award winning wines from the estate concurrently in 1987. The winery has evolved to its present incarnation as part of the Surf City Vintners along the Swift St. corridor in West Santa Cruz. I presently make about 1000 cases annually consisting mainly of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon blanc, Grenache blanc, Cinsault, Grenache, Merlot, and a rose blend known as “la belle petite poulette“.
Woodside VineyardsWoodside Vineyards
Woodside Vineyards is one of the oldest, small California wineries, boasting estate wines that are carefully nurtured from vineyard to bottle.
We cultivate vines in Woodside’s unique climate and soil. Our careful management of each stage of the process from growing to bottling produces the highest quality and vintage character year after year. All grapes are hand-picked and sorted. Small lot production assures minimal processing and gentle handling.
Our specialties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon wines, along with other special small lots including sparkling wine and port. The wines are styled to purposely complement casual food as well as fine meals.
