We invite you to come and explore! The Santa Cruz Mountains wine region is nestled in one of the most unique natural environments in the world. With its mountainous terrain, marine and valley influences, varied micro-climates, and diverse soils the Santa Cruz Mountains offers our vintners the ideal place to grow high quality grapes and to produce some of the world’s most distinct and terroir driven wines.
The Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation encompasses more than 850 square miles beginning from San Francisco down the Peninsula to Silicon Valley and Gilroy over to Watsonville, Monterey Bay and back up to Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. Due to the size of the Santa Cruz Mountains wine region it is often useful for our visitors to plan their trip by winery hours of operation, sub-regions or by urban winery locations.
Testarossa WineryTestarossa Winery
From a Silicon Valley Garage to International Acclaim
Testarossa (Italian for “red head”) was the nickname given Rob Jensen as a young university student in Italy. Rob and Diana Jensen started Testarossa in their garage in 1993 with just twenty-five cases of wine. Today, the winery works closely with top winegrowers in the Santa Lucia Highlands, Santa Rita Hills, Arroyo Grande Valley, Santa Maria Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalone and Santa Cruz Mountains appellations. The label has grown to national prominence among collectors and reviewers by cultivating long-term partnerships with passionate winegrowers and vineyards the likes of Garys’, Pisoni, Rosella’s, Doctor’s, Sierra Madre and Rincon.
At Testarossa, all of our winemaking expertise and experience flows towards one goal: crafting elegant, limited release Pinot Noir and Chardonnay worthy of your table.
Winemaker Bill Brosseau works both sides of the equation – in the vineyard and in the cellar – to translate the state’s best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit into the state’s most sought-after wines. Behind our historic hand-hewn stone walls, Bill and his team employ traditional techniques and modern tools. Native yeast fermentations in sixty gallon French oak barrels for our Chardonnays. Hand sorting, extended pre-soaks, and small, custom designed stainless steel fermenters for our Pinot Noir. And everywhere, gentle, gravity-fed movement of the wines to preserve the vineyard’s character and integrity.
The results speak for themselves. Testarossa has an impressive, decades long track record of accolades and ninety-plus point scores from Wine Spectator, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, Antonio Galloni’s Vinous Media, Wine Enthusiast and Connoisseurs’ Guide.
Only our two, rarest wines carry a Jensen family name – the Diana’s Chardonnay and the Niclaire Pinot Noir. These wines are made by blending the top barrels of the vintage into the premier statement of the season. The Jensen Reserve Society is the best way for collectors to reserve their share of these two, limited gems.
The wines of Testarossa are made in very limited, small lots. Many of the wines sell out quickly to our Club Testarossa members. For wines currently available for purchase, please visit our online wine shop.

Thomas Fogarty Winery & VineyardsThomas Fogarty Winery & Vineyards
Thomas Fogarty Wine Estate:
Beginning in 1978, Dr. Thomas Fogarty and Winemaker Michael Martella planted vines and built a small estate winery in the rugged Santa Cruz Mountains, 2,000 feet above sea level. The coastal climate, high elevation and thin rocky soils are unique and define the authentic site-expressive wines. Today a new generation continues the founders’ spirited pursuit. Tom Fogarty Jr. runs Thomas Fogarty Wine Estate. Winemaker Nathan Kandler produces distinctive Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from 25 acres of estate vineyards, 8 unique sites, in the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation.
