Join us for an amazing Pinot Noir Technical Session – with keynote Speaker Ken Burnap, founder of Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard. Hear Ken’s first hand account of how the jagged borders traversing 3 counties were designated to become the legally recognized premier AVA it is today. Ken – along with David Bennion, the late co-founder of Ridge Vineyards – was instrumental in the creation of the Santa Cruz Mountains American AVA. Hear Ken’s first hand account of how the jagged borders traversing 3 counties were designated to become the legally recognized premier AVA it is today.
Following Ken’s presentation there will be a technical tasting featuring wines produced from a selection of specific Santa Cruz Mountains vineyards that grow fruit for a variety of different winemakers. Experience for yourself how the terroir of the site and the craft of the producer influence your favorite wines. The vineyards are: Lester Family; Beauregard ; Mun’s; and Regan. Each vineyard will showcase four premium winemakers to demonstrate the differences individual producers have on a bottle of wine.
The Technical Session is open to all who are interested in experiencing an in depth journey into the unique expression of terroir of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. Technical session tickets are available for $45, and tickets for both events are available for $75.
