Only a four times per year is our winery open to visitors without appointments. This will be our first participation in Passport in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to visit one of the most breathtaking grape growing and winemaking locations in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
We are dedicated to handcrafting wines which authentically reflect the ocean-influenced, mountain vineyards that inspire them. We are internationally known for our Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs, Syrahs and Rhone blends. Our vineyards and winery are located on some of the most remote, pristine and breath-taking locations in the Santa Cruz and Gabilan Mountain Ranges. Our practices of organic farming and natural winemaking are very laborious and costly, but produce wines of extraordinary varietal purity with beautiful aromatics, rich textures and very long finishes.
International wine critic, Antonio Galloni had this to say about Big Basin in July 2013: “Proprietor Bradley Brown crafts some of the most compelling, small-production artisan wines in California’s Central Coast… Big Basin is one of the most dynamic up and coming wineries in the state.”
We will be pouring the following wines:
2011 Homestead Block Roussanne, Santa Cruz Mountains – Estate
2011 Lester Family Vineyard Pinot Noir, Santa Cruz Mountains
2010 Woodruff Family Vineyard Pinot Noir, Santa Cruz Mountains
2010 Grizzly GSM, Santa Cruz / Gabilan Mountains
2009 Old Corral Syrah, Santa Cruz Mountains – Estate
This special flight is complimentary to valid Passport holders and Friends of the Vineyard (wine club members) or $10 per person.
